After today’s whole-class workshop on four students’ drafts, I came back to my office and started entering grades for responses & attendance. At some point, I had a heart palpitation because I knew I had forgotten to have the class discuss one of the four drafts—didn’t mention that this guy had submitted a draft or that everyone else had already come up with feedback for it—just thanked the other three nicely and said “Great workshop! Have a good weekend!” and closed up shop.

After (wracked with guilt) I nervously typed up an apology email, in which I apologized as many times as I could without seeming unteacherly, I realized that we HAD discussed that guy’s draft. The memory of it just returned, after having been completely absent.

What?!!!????? HAALP
