Here’s the first paragraph of Rena’s newer writing project:

My mother was Sheila Augusta Riggs Headrick.  Her mother, Jeanette Evans Riggs, died of tuberculosis when Mama was two years old, and soon after that (I think) her father (Ernest Riggs, Sr.) gave her to his sister and her husband to raise.  I think Mama’s aunt was named Orpha, and I am not sure what her uncle was named.  But in our family, they were always referred to as Mama and Daddy ‘Coy, their last name being McCoy.

This already reads like the opening of a novel or memoir, one I would want to read.  So excited & feel like it’s Christmas.   (Have begged her several times throughout the past few years to please start your memoir, Mom.)
