“Indeed, if we consider the unblushing promises of reward and the staggering nature of the rewards promised in the Gospels, it would seem that Our Lord finds our desires not too strong, but too weak.”

Hey AL,
The other day I was in a used bookstore (the first one I`ve been to down here), and, browsing around, looking for nothing in particular but hoping for serendipity, I suddenly stumbled upon Till We Have Faces! (Mientras No Tengamos Rostro) Yayy…very much enjoying rereading the story and looking up every other word. I read SO SLOWLY in Spanish–well, real literature, anyway–and reread reread reread, but it can be nice, stewing and simmering in the story, savoring its riches so deliberately and patiently. So, you`re reading Lewis too?

well, I’m actually just rereading old blog posts, and I posted this quote here ages ago. it’s powerful, and I can’t read it without wanting the entire human race to understand it with me. at the same moment. of course I feel the same way about TWHF, and it’s so lovely, what a surprise, to hear that you’re reading it in Spanish! I would love to hear any / all fascinating insights the translation offers. post them!
